On the morning of September 19, 2015 the Innovative Experimental Class of Shandong Experimental High School (SDEHS) was held at Zhixin Building. Zheng Chun, Dean of LJS, professor Zhang Shuzheng, professor Tang Ziheng and professor Wang Xiaoshu attended and delivered speeches. Li Jianfeng, Deputy Dean of LJS, chaired the meeting.

On behalf of the school, Zheng Chun extended a warm welcome to the teachers and students of SDEHS. He reviewed the development of the Experimental Class and emphasized that LJS attaches great importance to its development. He said teachers of LJS had always been keenly focused on students’ learning. According to Dean Zheng, Advisers Group will make some adjustments as required to continuously improve the class. Then he encouraged students to counsel with their tutors more closely for additional academic assistance. He ended his address with best wishes that

he looks forward to meeting all of them in the college freshmen class.

Prof. Zheng Chun, Prof. Zhang Shuzheng, Prof.Tang Ziheng and Prof. Li Jianfeng introduced their subjects and described the elements of each profession. Prof.Wang Xiaoshu followed with remarks entitled "About Reading and Writing" for students. He emphasized three important aspects of reading: why you read , how to read, and what you should read. Additionally, he introduced some reading skills. He said, “Reading determines the direction of one’s life, and even someone’s destiny.” For senior students, he suggested they should do both extracurricular reading and class reading.

The Innovative Experimental Class was built by Shandong University and Shandong Experimental High School to jointly cultivate innovative talents. The Innovative Experimental Class implements virtual class in the training mode and divides into 5 subject interest groups, namely Chinese, mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology. The school of Literature and Journalism is the only school selected for this activity in schools of Humanities and Social Sciences. LJS pays high attention to and actively participates in the organization and construction of the Innovative Experimental Class.
