On the afternoon of September 24, the meeting between the tutors and students of 2014th Chinese base class at Literature and Journalism School (LJS) was held in A916, Zhixin Building. Secretary of LJS party committee Wang Desheng attended the meeting and delivered a brief speech.The meeting was presided by deputy dean of LJS Li Jianfeng, and related tutors of LJS and 2014th Chinese base class students attended the activity.

At the beginning of the meeting,Wang Desheng made a brief speech, and extended a sincerely warm welcome and thanks to the tutors and students’ arrival. Later on, he made a brief introduction of the tutor system, and expressed high expectations for the students. He encouraged the students to make full use of the superior conditions that the base class of LJS implements tutor-guide system, and encouraged them to make more communications with tutors to improve their ability and literacy.

Professor Tang Ziheng, the teacher representative, has pointed out that the establishment of the base class-tutorial system is a pattern to carry forward the traditional Chinese culture. He also encouraged students to fulfill their value of life through academic study. He added that by learning majors such as classical Chinese, it's not just about academic study, but more about finding ways to improve oneself. He hoped that the students could be down-to-earth, so as to lay a solid foundation in expertise; while at the same time, had visions for the future and promoted their humanistic quality.

Li Jianfeng said that the base class would set up a new course "Ten Kinds of Classical Reading" for the grade 2014th students. He encouraged the students to read the original texts carefully, take the initiative to ask tutor, and learn more knowledge through the communication between tutors and students. Eventually, he read a list of 2014th tutors and their students.Tutors and students talked freely at the meeting. The meeting ended in a warm atmosphere.
